The simplest way to do this is to attach a pump between the bottom outlet and the top, fill it with hot water and detergent, turn the pump on and leave it to circulate for an hour or whatever, pump it out and repeat with rinse water until you are happy. If you’re cautious you could stick a sackful of caustic soda in there. It’s a cheap aggressive cleaner that easily rinses completely away with water. That is also how you turn it into a biodiesel processor, pump mixing works very well in the process. A suitable very high quality Grundfos three phase, self priming, multi stage centrifugal pump with stainless wetted parts and compatible seals is available.
