Vintage 1960s OMEGA Ladies De Ville Tank Watch (551.256) 17J Cal 620 with Papers. The watch is nice vintage example of a 1970s ladies luxury cocktail tank style watch. It has an aged cream coloured dial (see pictures) with black. Hands and silver markers with the OMEGA word/symbol at the top and De Ville above 6 o’clock. The crystal is clear with just the odd faint mark mainly noticeable up close. The case is stainless steel and 20mm wide x 26.5mm lug to lug (excluding the crown) generally in good condition for its age as is the case back. The case back has a 25 year service inscription and the inside the case back are the words OMEGA Watch Company and model 551.256. The watch is on a new good quality Hirsch black leather strap. The watch is powered by a 17 jewel Manual movement Calibre 620 and the serial number (26767415) dates the watch movement to the late 1960s (1968) although it was presented to the owner for long service in 1970. The watch is setting, winding and running well, but as with all older vintage watches would no doubt benefit from a service at some point in the future. The watch comes with the original guarantee papers dated 1970 as well as the presentation certificate given to the previous owner for long service. This would make a beautiful dress or every day watch and by a top SWISS watch company is sure to not only hold but gain in value over the years.
