Solid 18ct yellow gold caseback featuring Cartier insignia, model and serial numbers. Solid 18ct yellow gold case (33.7 mm x 25.5 mm excluding crown, 6.35 mm thick). Genuine crocodile leather strap with Di-Modell gold tone pin buckle. Easy-grip’ pull out crown encrusted with a blue cabochon. Blued, Stainless Steel hour/minute hands. Shatter resistant mineral crystal. Date aperture at 3 O’Clock. The design of the Tank Louis Cartier is so strong, and instantly recognisable on the wrist. It has remained virtually unchanged from when it was first designed a century ago and adorned the wrist of Louis Cartier himself. Since its inception, there have been many iterations of which this reference 2441 is one of the most desirable. This example has contemporary case proportions, while remaining refined and slim as the Tank was designed to be, in keeping with the original styling the cabochon encrusted crown is elongated, while the edges of the lugs of the solid 18ct yellow gold case are subtly rounded. The dial features a beautiful grained texture, emblazoned with the characteristic Roman Numeral hour markers, and of course the characteristic cabochon matches the blued stainless Steel hands. This is an archetypal dress watch, and while it’s considered a large version, it is still traditionally sized because the style of the Tank is so timeless. On the wrist it looks absolutely stunning. As for the condition, it is absolutely beautiful as per the photographs. I have fitted a brand new genuine crocodile leather strap, the watch has just been fully serviced and the battery changed.
