Look no further if you want a quality, elegant and neat tank watch from a top maker. This watch really is a design classic from Omega, featuring the famous T17 movement. Classic Art Deco, whilst still maintaining subtlety. It is no wonder that the rectangular designs housing the T17 have become so sought after in the last 5 years. This example has a beautifully restored dial which has a slight pearly tone in the light, with a subtle grain running long ways. This adds a nice texture to the dial. The original Plume style hands are thermally blued and shine brightly in the light. Inside the case back is signed clearly with the Omega logo, and within it you have the beautiful T17 movement, which has been recently serviced. The serial number dates this watch to 1930. The front of the case is Stainless Steel and is in good condition, but it has some corrosion on the edge of the case, where it meets the case back. It is a very neat and well-proportioned rectangular case. It measures 22mm wide by 33mm in length. It wears well with its lug to lug measurement of 40mm and slight curvature, meaning that it hugs the wrist comfortably. The dial is in very good condition, having been restored to a high standard. It is a very faithful restoration, with exact re-print of all aspects. It is signed Omega with the Omega logo below 12 Oclock, with Swiss Made signed below 6 Oclock. There is a clear and simple railroad track around the extremity of the dial. The 5 minute marks are bolder. The Numerals are clear, Arabic numerals that are plotted in line. The crystal is a replacement which fits the profile of the watch perfectly, with a slight facet to the edge. It is in perfect condition. The crown appears to be original and is Stainless Steel. It has a beautiful coin edge finish. The strap is a vintage black leather strap, which has some aging but suits a vintage watch. Full condition report below. Please see the images as these compliment and aid the description provided below. The sub-second dial is above 6 Oclock, and is inset within the dial. It is a clear and simple track. There are a couple of marks on the right side of the dial and around the centre of the sub-second dial. The hands are original. They are thermally blued Plume style hands. They are in good condition with no bending and minimal corrosion. The thermally blued finish is a bright blue in the light. There is light surface scratching on the front of the case. The case back is Stainless Steel and its in very good condition with only light surface scratches. It has a lightly grained finish. The inside has peerlage finishing and is signed Acier Staybrite, Omega, Fab. The movement is the famous Omega T17 movement. It is manually wound with a lever escapement, 15 jewels, and a bi-metallic compensation balance. It has a frequency of 18000 BPH. The movement has been recently serviced. Case width with crown: 23.5mm. Case length lug to lug: 40mm. The item “1930 Art Deco Omega T17 rectangular Tank watch, Staybrite Steel Case, Serviced” is in sale since Thursday, November 11, 2021.
